A European study has found new evidence that links alcohol consumption with bowel cancer.
The findings from the European Prospective Investigation into Cancer and Nutrition suggest that people who drink one or two glasses of wine or beer a day increase their risk of developing the disease by about 10 percent.
That increases to 25 percent for people who drink twice as much.
Dr Kat Arney from Cancer Research UK, one of the groups helping to fund the study, says the findings are very important.
